Despite its enduring reputation as a party city, Las Vegas has grown into a vacation destination with something to offer for almost anyone. Families with children take advantage of play time at the pool, amusement park rides, or taking in the many one-of-a-kind attractions that Vegas has to offer. For older adults who aren’t looking to indulge in the sexier side of Vegas nightlife, there are endless choices when it comes to superb dining and entertainment offerings. What about middle-aged and senior travelers who love adventure, but aren’t interested in night clubs? Well, it turns out there’s more than one way to get dirty in the desert.
On first glance, Debbie and Gary of Ankeny, Iowa might not look like your typical Las Vegas thrill-seekers. You might expect to see them taking in a Cirque du Soleil performance or eating at Gordon Ramsay Steak, but not driving through the desert on an ATV.
In Vegas, expectations are meant to be surpassed.
Thanks to some pre-trip research on TripAdvisor, this adventurous couple came across Vegas Off Road Tours and decided to make their time in the desert even more exciting.
While they expected to have fun driving the RZRs, Debbie was surprised by the vast beauty of the desert scenery. Compared to the rolling green hills and pastures of the Iowan countryside, the scrub brush and rocky outcroppings of the Nevada desert offered a completely different kind of picturesque landscape than that of their home state. Just like there’s no age limit for getting dirty in an ATV, it’s never too late to get to know America’s ecosystems up close and personal.
For any older riders concerned about the temperature, Gary was surprised that it wasn’t much of a concern. Once their Las Vegas ATV tour got going, the cool wind kept them from feeling overwhelmed by the desert heat. Too bad that breeze isn’t an option when you’re lounging poolside in July!
Proof that Vegas is fun for adventurers of any age, Debbie and Gary joked that their ATV tour saved them some money by getting them off the strip. But even for visitors who aren’t big gamblers, an ATV tour provides an extra level to a Las Vegas experience, and shows just how much Nevada there is to explore outside of the famed Las Vegas Boulevard.
You’re never too old to experience it!
